日本首相安倍晉三（Shinzo Abe）是頻登新聞版面的高手！最近，他又以充滿正反爭議的日本「集體自衛權」再度上了亞洲國際版頭條。

「集體自衛權」的英語詞彙是collective self-defense。簡言之，它是指：即使自身未受到攻擊，日本政府也可以為了阻止針對日本盟國的攻擊而行使武力。安倍首相的內閣如此決議，使日本自衛隊赴海外佈署軍隊與參加戰爭成為可能，而亞洲各國為此議論紛紛。

國際媒體如此報導：

Abe sees the right to exercise collective self-defense as necessary to ensure the security and prosperity of Japan.
（安倍視行使集體自衛權為必須，以確保日本的安全與繁榮。）

Despite widespread public opposition in Japan, Abe will invoke the right to exercise so-called "collective self-defense".
（雖然日本大眾普遍反對，但是安倍仍將訴諸行使所謂的「集體自衛權」。）

collective self-defense是集體自衛權的英語用字；顯而易見的，self是「自己」，defense是「防衛、防禦、保護」，所以self-defense是自我防衛，簡稱「自衛」。但是值得一學的是collective這個字！你應該沒有忘記英語字彙collect是「收集」，例如「收集郵票」是collect stamps。但是加了形容詞字尾「-ive」的collective卻不是「收集的」，它可是國際職場與多益測驗的核心字彙──「集體的、共同的」，例如集體的努力是collective efforts、集體領導是collective leadership等等。我們此次藉由日本首相安倍提出「集體自衛權」的collective self-defense而重溫此字。

既然有「收集」（collect），就有「分開」；同樣地，既然有「集體的」（collective），就有「個別的」，來一口氣記4個字：:

collect（收集）→ collective（集體的）
divide（分開）→ individual（個別的）

解析
本題的正確答案是(B)。appropriate是「合適的、適當的」，片語「in light of…」有「根據…、鑑於…」之意。seem是「看起來似乎…」。所以全句句意為「以公司目前的財務狀況來，保守的投資策略似乎是適當的。」

答案(A)是「承認的、認可的」、答案(C)是「替代的、替代方案的」，皆不符。答案(D)的collective即為我們前述安倍晉三「集體自衛權」（collective self-defense）中的collective，是「集體的、共同的」，在此若放入本句中亦不符。
